The Mastercut diamond has 89 facets, 32 more than a traditional round brilliant cut diamond resulting in a diamond which is up to 30% brighter.

An extra 8 facets are created on the crown by cutting the kite facet in half. This is called the Crown Break. The unique star pattern is created by an additional 24 extra facets in the Pavilion. Each of the lower main facets has three extra facets cut near the culet.

Mastercut diamond

Jean Paul Tolkowsky, utilising his expert skills and knowledge, designed the unique Mastercut diamond. Tolkowsky, famously known for inventing the Ideal Cut diamond in 1919, is also synonymous with cutting the world's largest diamond - The Golden Jubilee, and the world's largest 'D Flawless' diamond - The De Beers Centenary Diamond.
